7 Ways to Write Film Reviews - Tech WebSite Ranking

In today’s stressful life we all enjoy movies, and who doesn’t actually we make an opinion that the person is not fit for our group of movie lovers. But, that is not an issue here; we must respect every body’s likes and dislikes. You must be thinking reviews on movies, wow! Nice and easy job. But trus
t me it is not. Watching a movie and criticizing it from a personal point of view is much easier than criticizing it professionally from all angles, be it casting, directing, camera work or financing. You need to be aware of all from the tip to toe, in order to justify your criticism which in return affects the movie rating and eventually the business. So, you see it is like going in circles and affecting your own business at the end.

1. Now that you have decided to write a movie review, you must watch it first before saying anything blindly. As, it is very obvious to have missed the point in one go; also to have a better understanding from the makers point of view keep your mind open and don’t jump to conclusions. The second and the third watch if possible will help you.

2. Even if you liked the movie a lot or didn’t at all, you must give a valid reason for your criticism. If you were happy at some point or depressed, disappointed or offended you must give a good point for it. A professional critic never targets the actors or directors or for that matter anyone related to the movie personally.

3. You must adapt you writing style as per the readership. If you are writing for a traditional and a typical journal, you will be expected to handle it moderately. But, this is not the case with the mainstream critics. They have the liberty to make a mock of ill mannered movie and to pass on healthy and reasonable comments. If you are writing for movie geeks, you can feel free to write but again with clear justification for your evaluation.

4. Be a professional in any field you work. It doesn’t matter if you are writing for movies as it is related to fun you don’t have to be a spoiler. Meaning, you must not reveal the key scenes’ from the movie or give out the story line to kill the cat. It would be ok if you are reviewing an already released movie. Some of the sites make the spoilers invisible by coding them.

5. Evaluate the story and see if the actions performed in the movie are justified. Check if there is a consistency in the story and actor’s behavior? Do you feel the story is logical? Is it able to connect together the characters or there is a kayos.

6. Rating the performers would be the next step. You need to check if the performers are living up to the expectation and doing justice to the dedicated plot. If not, is it their own innovative style or they are lacking in something. See if the script is weak or the direction has affected the outcome. What they all as a team could have done to make it a better experience.

7. Not only this, but the technical aspect also plays an important role today. Lights, camera, sound, editing etc are vital organs a movie. Music plays the soul of the movie, so is it properly put. For all this you don’t have to initially know and use the field pertaining jargons. People just need a genuine review with no adulteration.

Often people might disagree with you and regardless of your review they will go for their own opinion, which is obvious. But, you don’t have to be disappointed; you know the fact that people any ways don’t appreciate criticism and you are doing it because you just love doing it. Just remember that writing is your passion and for people who love to write they try to find different ways to amuse themselves with sheer dedication, just as people who love to read do.
